Clare Cella

BFA in Graphic Design

Clare Cella was born in Morristown, New Jersey, and studied Graphic Design at Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2021. At a young age, her passion for design was inspired by her mother’s love for fashion, murals, and design. Her love for design was nurtured at a young age as she accompanied her mother on mural projects opening her eyes to color and design. Her passion became clear in high school as she gravitated towards graphic design. As a designer, she embodied the stylistic form of using simple and organic designs to captivate her audience. Along the journey, her work consists of modern and clean-lined websites, mobile apps, products that focus on the development of branding concepts. She is inspired by the use of minimalist art combined with pop art from artists such as Andy Warhol, Donald Judd, and Larry Bell. Most of her focus as a designer exudes the concept of simplicity and minimal clean lines yet captivating incorporating shapes, colors, and lines. While studying Graphic Design, she was able to create within a collaborative environment and develop her unique style as a designer. As a designer, she believes that any successful brand is stemmed from a creative marketing and advertising plan, one that reflects and elevates the product attracting new audiences. Her product design that is shown is titled “Wine With” which is an alcoholic beverage of Pinot Grigio that is alluded to individuals such as millennials and generation Z. The colors consist of a warm palette that mobilizes hues of pink and lilac that create a more welcoming presence. The Merchandise artwork she creates is stemmed from the idea of using bold shapes, forms, and bright colors to create a simple and minimalist message. Creating product design allows consumers to engage in the product itself and desire to be able to have it themselves. She is interested in product design that she can create be able to create designs for her audience that someday could be sold. Her show is a presentation of how she uses the uses of playful colors, bold forms, and elegant lines.
