Kait Prange
BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Art History
Hi, my name is Kaitlyn Prange and I can now fully say I am a graphic designer. Wow. It has certainly been a wild ride up to this point. I am, for the first time in my life, fully comfortable and happy with the person I am today. Salisbury University has been a major contributor to my happiness. I have met my closest friends and amazing professors who continuously inspire and push me to do my best at this school.
I have never considered myself to be overly creative. Nor do I consider myself to be an artist. This may be a conflicting statement to some; however, I purely consider myself to be a Graphic Designer. I enjoy the structure of creating graphics for a targeted audience and I know the goal of the client. However, I also enjoy the freedom of being able to create on my own. It gives me the best of both the art and advertising worlds. Additionally, I love the psychology behind it as well; knowing how to create for a specific audience is such a talent.
I feel as if I have an unusual connection to art. To many, art is their way of communication. To me, art is my way of connection. It keeps me connected to myself and the world around me. It keeps me grounded and gives me purpose.
In my future, I hope to work with a design group to work in branding, logo, and package design for small businesses. Preferably, I want to work in the restaurant industry; however I am open to other industries as well.
