Sarah Krammer
BFA in Graphic Design
Sarah Krammer is a digital artist who creates minimalistic and bohemian illustrative and portrait pieces, as well as uplifting hand-lettering quotes, sticker and print designs, t-shirts, and other varying creative projects. From an illustration standpoint, she focuses on bohemian and desert inspired landscape pieces, with an emphasis on highlights and shadows. Alongside her passion for graphic design and illustration, she also has a deep love for interior design and hopes to convey a deep appreciation for aesthetics in all that she does.
Born and raised in a small town in Maryland, USA, she never identified as “artistic” and actually used to joke about being terrible at art. It wasn’t until fate intervened and she ended up in an art class she didn’t sign up for, that she was able to see and understand her true potential as an artist. Encouraged daily by an amazing teacher, she finally found her stride and realized that a creative side has been hiding there all along. Not long after, she was inducted into the National Art Honors Society in November of 2016. Sarah’s artistic journey is a prime example of how one mishap can change the course of your life forever.
After multiple majors, a mini life crisis, and some serious soul-searching, she changed her major to Graphic Design her sophomore year of college and never looked back.
Graduating in May of 2021 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree and a concentration in Graphic Design from Salisbury University, she hopes to pursue as much work in the creative industry as possible.
Since the March 2020 onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sarah has been missing the creative community and collaboration she once had in the classroom. In order to stay connected, and to share her newfound love of digital illustration with her close friends and family, Sarah created an art based Instagram account, which took off rather quickly and accumulated over two thousand followers in less than seven months. Since joining the artistic community on Instagram, Sarah has curated the exact community and connection she had been longing for and more. After marketing herself as a creator, she’s been able to make countless logos, custom illustrations, and do a large amount of branding work for friends, clients, and people across the country. What started off as a small Instagram to showcase her own artwork has turned into a business venture, providing the opportunity to create stickers, prints, t-shirt designs, and more.
Her work over the past year has been largely centered around digital illustrations and hand-lettering done on her iPad Pro using an apple pencil and the Procreate App along with Adobe Indesign, but she has also spent time diving into interior design and experimenting with videography and Adobe Premiere Pro. Her work tends to lean bohemian in theme, and leaves her audience feeling excited and uplifted. She creates to inspire creativity, and features warm colors, soft textures, and lots of highlights and shading. Many of her illustrations feature desert scenes, inspired by her life-long dream of living in the Southwestern United States.
